In Norman patois, "gllu" means rye straw on Norman thatched cottages

Behind our funny little name hides Baptiste, a great enthusiast.
After studies in cabinet making and design and several years working on the conception of objects, the idea of creating and making his own creations matured.

"I didn't want to be just a designer anymore, but also a manufacturer, to be able to follow the whole life cycle of the product." (Baptiste)

He then moved to Normandy, his native region, to found gllu in early 2018 with his former partner.

In June 2020, Baptiste continues the adventure alone with the idea of continuing to grow and develop the brand.

Today, he is accompanied by a team that continues to grow: three experienced cabinetmakers, three apprentice cabinetmakers and a communication officer.

Creation is trying to make something out of what we have observed, of what we have found beautiful, intelligent, different, missing...

When we imagine a new product, it's because we have identified a new need: to display our cards or printed photos, to hang a bouquet of dried flowers on the wall... or on the other hand, we sometimes start from a tool or a new shape found in the workshop to imagine the use that could be made of it.

We strive for simplicity in the design of objects. This simplification is not to the detriment of aesthetics, on the contrary, it serves it. It also allows us to make it more efficient in its manufacture, at the right price, while valorizing the material and the know-how to the maximum.
